Early Life and Education Qualification of IAS Chaitanya Awasthi

Chaitanya Awasthi was born on 2 July 1997 in Barra village, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His father, Late Shant Sharan Awasthi, was a well-known journalist and a prominent figure in the newspaper industry. Unfortunately, Chaitanya lost his father to COVID-19 during his college years, a period that deeply affected him and his mother, Pratima Awasthi. However, this tragedy became his greatest motivation to fulfill his father’s dream of seeing him as an IAS officer.

Chaitanya completed his schooling from Swaraj India Public School, Kanpur, followed by studies at St. Thomas, Ranchi, The Bishop’s School, and Hill Top School, Jamshedpur. He pursued B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) in Constitutional Law from The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata, one of India’s premier law universities. His academic foundation in constitutional law played a key role in his UPSC preparation.
