Anjana Krishna UPSC Journey
The UPSC Civil Services Examination is considered one of the most difficult exams in India.
Anjana Krishna IPS cleared the exam in her fourth attempt.
She failed her first preliminary exam, which is common for many aspirants. However, she continued her preparation and kept improving her strategy.
During her preparation years, she also cleared the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exam. Although she had a railway job opportunity, she decided to continue her UPSC preparation.

On August 31, 2025, Anjana Krishna IPS was leading a police and revenue team during an operation against illegal murrum and sand mining in Kurdu village of Solapur district, Maharashtra. When the team reached the site, they found heavy machinery working but the operators could not show any valid licenses or environmental permissions. Because of this, Anjana Krishna ordered the mining work to stop.

During the operation, a local political worker called Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and handed the phone to the officer. The caller asked her to stop the action. Anjana Krishna IPS calmly replied that she could not take official orders from an unknown number and requested the call on her official phone instead. The situation remained tense for some time, but since no legal documents were produced, the illegal mining activity was stopped.
After seeing that viral video many people praised the professional conduct of Anjana Krishna IPS, while the incident also triggered political discussion. Authorities later confirmed that the mining activity was illegal and the police action was lawful.
