Ananya Das IAS was first married to IAS Muhammed Abdaal Akhtar, a fellow 2015 batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre. He served as an Assistant Secretary in the Department of Commerce in 2017. He later worked as a Project Director in a rural development agency in Koraput. Due to her marriage, Ananya Das IAS transferred from the Gujarat cadre to the Odisha cadre. The couple later divorced.
In February 2023, Ananya Das IAS got engaged to IAS Chanchal Rana. The engagement ceremony took place at her official residence in Sambalpur. The couple tied the knot on May 2, 2023, in Guwahati, Assam.
IAS Chanchal Rana is a 2014 batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre. He secured All India Rank 7 in the UPSC exam. He is an alumnus of NIT Silchar. At the time of their engagement, he was serving as the District Magistrate of Balangir. He had also previously gone through a divorce from his first wife, IAS Swadha Dev Singh.
Both Ananya Das IAS and Chanchal Rana found a new beginning together.

Ananya came from an engineering background. She had no prior knowledge of Political Science. Still, she chose Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) as her optional subject.
She approached it like an engineer. She broke the syllabus into parts. She followed classroom notes for new topics. She self-studied familiar sections like International Relations. By November 2014, she had finished the entire syllabus. She then focused on revision and answer writing.
Her strategy worked very well. She scored 293 marks in PSIR (136 in Paper 1 and 157 in Paper 2). That is an excellent score.
She scored 134 marks in the Preliminary Examination too. Her overall preparation was structured and disciplined.

Ananya Das IAS is currently serving as the State Project Director of the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA). In this role, she is leading the rollout of the PM SHRI scheme across 462 schools in Odisha.
